This adapter is very good. I have used adapters from various manufacturers for Pentax M42 & K mount, Olympus OM, and this by far is the most solid, well-made adapter I have seen.

The lens mounts securely to the adapter. The adapter mounts securely to the camera. There is no “slop” in the fit. The adapter stays locked to the lens so you can treat the lens just like any other Canon lens (with regard to mounting and unmounting).

As usual, one must focus manually (like photographers did for 100 years…) and set the exposure manually (though my Canon TTL meter works in AV and M modes allowing reasonable easy exposure setting).

As some have correctly pointed out, there are lenses that may be incompatible with your camera – best to research this before you purchase the adapter and especially, before you mount the lens and find out something “hits”.

I am using this to mount a Zörk Panorama Shift Adapter (PSA) to a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. It works perfectly. Since this set-up is essentially an adapter-mounted-to-an-adapter-mounted-to-a-lens, the amount of “slop” could be multiplied. But because both adapters are high quality, the lens feels solidly mounted to the camera with no looseness – just what is needed for precise infinity-focus and a flat field aligning with the sensor. It exceeds my best expectation!

The added bonus for me is that I can now share my PSA with my Nikon-toting friend, and he can share his Nikon lenses with me!

This item is well worth the price, and comes highly recommended!
